Specializing in
The Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) is a crucial document that is required to be aligned to your child’s needs. I will assist you in determining if it needs additions.
Educational and psychological evaluations drive the IEP and need to be current and valid. I conduct psycho-educational evaluations to determine what type of disability is present and what are the best steps to treat it. If your evaluations are current, I will review them to ensure that any deficits found will be addressed in the IEP.
I assist parents in navigating the special education maze of IEP meetings, evaluations, appropriate school placements and preparing for the world of work or college.
In addition to reviewing your child’s records, I will meet with you and your child to focus on your specific needs and goals, to enhance your child’s educational experience.
I work with Child Study Teams directly on your child’s behalf.
Through encouragement and goal setting we will create a plan to empower individuals to take the actions necessary to reach the goals they envision.
These sessions can be valuable for a young adult with special needs to learn new coping skills and make positive changes in their life.
At times, these sessions are appropriate for the parent to take care of themselves and be in a better position to guide their children.
I have helped my clients increase productivity through goal setting, identify and engage in hobbies and activities, create and improve relationships, ultimately enhancing their lives.
The psycho-educational evaluations that I offer will give you a wealth of information about how your child learns and determine if a learning disability is present. If a learning disability is present, I will work with you and your child to build a remediation plan.
If your child already has an IEP, the psycho-educational evaluation can determine if progress is being made or if the IEP needs fine tuning.
I use the WJIV Cognitive and Achievement Battery of tests which are recognized by elementary schools, high schools and colleges.
